Slava Zhuk

Slava Zhuk Therapist

My name is Slava, and I am a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree from Hunter College. I am fluent in English and Ukrainian and have an understanding of European cultures and the assimilation difficulties that so many immigrants go through. My goal as a therapist is to facilitate a therapeutic environment that honors each unique narrative while providing empowerment to make positive changes in life. Often, we don’t know where to start with change; other times, we get overwhelmed by the possibilities, and sometimes, change feels impossible. I approach therapy with a flexible mindset, tailoring interventions to the preferences and needs of each client, whether it’s narrative, cognitive behavioral (CBT), solution-focused (SFT), or psychodynamic modalities. I am also an avid hobby-sampler, and I’m used to finding creative solutions for various situations. I believe that by recognizing your mind’s uniqueness, we can collaboratively pave the way to create lasting positive transformation.
