Rachel Bou

Hello! My name is Rachel Bou. I am a dedicated Licensed Master of Social Work who views therapy as a building block to go beyond the surface and engage in the transformative process of self-discovery. Born and raised in Queens, NYC, I earned my Masters of Social Work from York College. Within sessions I utilize various evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Strengths’ Perspective with clients to create a well-rounded toolkit of understanding one’s self and use coping skills that build empowerment. Using these frameworks I have worked with clients across the lifespan from children to seniors addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, family dynamics, low self-esteem, and trauma. I am passionate about understanding the past, rebuilding the present, and owning the future through resiliency. Whether we are playing board games to unlock a child’s creativity, taking on the challenge of processing life’s transitions with teens and young adults, or asking the difficult questions that make even the most seasoned adults pause, my goal remains the same: to help you truly understand your story so you can write a better next chapter.
