Systems Approach

Our clinicians look at the interrelatedness of your current relationships, belief systems and family history in order to see how certain patterns have emerged in your life.

Systems therapy is generally used for families and couples. It is a technique that helps the therapist gain insight into each person’s role in the family, and how these roles relate to one another. By understanding each person’s role both individually and in relation to the others in the family or relationship, the therapist can gain insight into why certain problems exist. Together the therapist and the family members can begin to understand and change negative patterns of behavior and miscommunication.

The goal of systems therapy is to help the family members achieve positive, secure relationships, which will help them to improve their overall well-being. It also allows each family member to work together to solve individual issues.
